Permethrin (Lyclear) 5% w/w Cream - 30g
Head Lice & ScabiesIn stockMore InformationWhat is Lyclear Dermal Cream?
Lyclear Dermal Cream is used to treat infestations of scabies and crab lice on the body. It contains the ingredient permethrin which belongs to a group of medicines called pyrethroids which kill mites such as scabies and crab lice.
You must talk to a doctor if the symptoms worsen or do not improve
How to use Lyclear Dermal Cream
- Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
- Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
- To pierce tube, remove the cap and reverse it over the nozzle, push firmly and turn.
- Apply the cream to clean, dry, cool skin.
- Do not take a hot bath or shower immediately before treatment.
To treat scabies
- Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age - Apply up to 30 g of cream (corresponding to one tube of 30 g).
- Children aged from 6 - 12 years - Apply up to 15 g of cream (corresponding to ½ tube of 30 g).
- Children aged from 2 months - 5 years - Apply up to 7.5 g of cream (corresponding to ¼ tube of 30 g).
To treat crab lice
- Adults over 18 years of age - Apply up to 30 g of cream (corresponding to one tube of 30 g).
How and when should you use Lyclear Dermal Cream?
Lyclear Dermal Cream is for cutaneous use only.
Take care not to allow the cream to get into the eyes or come into contact with mucous membranes (inside the nose or throat, genital region) or open wounds. If accidental contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.
Adults should apply the cream to the whole body including the neck, palms of the hands and soles of the feet. The head and face can be spared unless this area includes places affected by scabies (itch mites).
When applying the cream, the areas between the fingers and toes (also under the finger- and toe-nails), the wrists, elbows, armpits, external genitalia and buttocks should be especially carefully treated.
For the treatment of crab lice in adults: Any facial hair (beards moustaches) and eyelashes should be checked for the presence of live lice and eggs. The cream should be applied to any facial hair, carefully avoiding eyes. If live lice or eggs are found on the eyelashes they should be removed carefully using tweezers. The cream should not be applied to the eyelashes because the cream can cause moderate eye irritation.
Children: Children should apply the cream uniformly to the whole body, including the palms of the hands, soles of the feet, neck, face, ears, and scalp. Parts of the skin around the mouth (because the cream could be licked off) and the eyes should be spared. Keep your child from licking the cream from the hands. If necessary, children should wear gloves. There is no adequate experience in infants and toddlers. Treatment to children up to the age of 23 months should therefore only be treated under close medical supervision.
Elderly: Elderly patients (over 65 years) should use the cream in the same way as adults but in addition, the face, ears and scalp should also be treated. Care should be taken to avoid applying the cream to areas of skin around the eyes.
How long should you use Lyclear Dermal Cream?
One application of Lyclear Dermal Cream is usually sufficient.
Leave the cream on the skin for at least eight hours, for example, overnight. Avoid bathing, showering or washing during this period, because this could endanger the success of treatment. If, by way of an exception, you have to wash your hands within the eight hour period, then reapply the cream to the hands and wrist area. The same applies if you have to wash other parts of treated skin (buttocks, external genitalia).
After at least eight hours, take a shower or wash the skin with soap and water.
Provided these instructions for use are followed, a single application is generally sufficient for successful treatment. However, in cases of persistent or renewed infestation, it may be necessary to repeat the treatment after 14 days.
What does Lyclear Dermal Cream contain?
The active substance is Permethrin (5% w/w).

Eczema, Psoriasis & DermatitisOut of stockGet started£5.99What is Hydrocortisone Cream?
Hydrocortisone creams, ointments and lotions contain a type of medicine known as a corticosteroid or 'steroid'. Corticosteroids are not the same as anabolic steroids.
Hydrocortisone creams are used on the skin to treat swelling, itching and irritation. They can help with skin problems such as:
- Psoriasis
- Eczema
- Contact dermatitis
- Prickly heat rash
- Nappy rash
- Insect bites and stings
Who is this cream suitable for
Most adults and children can use hydrocortisone skin creams.
However, don't use hydrocortisone skin products on children under ten years old unless their doctor recommends it.
Hydrocortisone skin cream isn't suitable for some people.
Tell your pharmacist or doctor before starting the medicine if you:
- have had an allergic reaction to hydrocortisone or any other medicine in the past
- have a skin infection (including eye infections)
- are trying to get pregnant, are already pregnant, or you're breastfeeding
Cream, ointment or lotion?
There are different types of hydrocortisone skin products. Creams are the most common, but there are also hydrocortisone ointments and lotions.
As a general rule:
- Hydrocortisone cream is better for skin which is moist and weepy with clear or yellow fluid.
- Hydrocortisone ointment is thicker and greasier - it's better for dry or flaky areas of skin.
- Hydrocortisone lotion is a liquid - it's useful for treating the scalp and large or hairy areas of skin.
How to apply Hydrocortisone Cream
- Spread the cream in a thin layer over the area of irritated skin.
- Carefully smooth it into your skin in the direction the hair grows until it disappears.
- Be careful not to get the cream into broken skin or cuts.
- Wash your hands afterwards (unless it's your hands that you're treating).
- Use the cream on all the irritated skin, not just the worst areas.

Dermol 500 Lotion is an antimicrobial and emollient (softening and moisturising) treatment for application to dry or problem skin.
It is for use in two ways:
- as a leave-on application
- as a soap-substitute
It helps treat and prevent dry and itchy (pruritic) skin conditions, especially eczema and dermatitis.
All age groups can use Dermol 500 Lotion, including babies.
There are two types of the active ingredient in this product:
Benzalkonium chloride and chlorhexidine dihydrochloride are antimicrobials. These help to:
- combat bacteria present on your skin that can make eczema worse
- prevent infection caused by scratching itchy skin.
Liquid paraffin and isopropyl myristate are emollients that help to:
- soften, moisturise and protect your skin by trapping moisture in the skin and restoring the normal protective function of the skin
- prevent the skin-drying and irritant effects that can be caused by washing and bathing and by the soaps, foaming additives and fragrances used in ordinary skin cleansing products.
This product can be used in addition to any other emollients or treatments your doctor or pharmacist may have given or prescribed for you to treat your dry skin condition.
How to use Dermol 500 Lotion
Use it only on the skin. For maximum benefit, you should use this product on a regular basis and as often as required.
Before using the 500 ml bottle, turn the top of the pump dispenser anti-clockwise to unlock it.

- If necessary, allow time for any excess to soak in. Do not rub the skin vigorously.
- Reapply as often as required.

With its advanced triple-action formula, AproDerm Barrier Cream is designed to protect, moisturise and condition the skin. This gentle, long-lasting, transparent cream forms a breathable layer on the skin defending it from further damage whilst helping to soothe, protect and heal. Scientifically developed to be free from SLS, parabens, and fragrances, which can irritate delicate and vulnerable skin, it is gentle enough for everyone, from newborn babies to the elderly. Dermatologically tested, cruelty-free and suitable for vegans, AproDerm Barrier Cream is everyone's best friend.
So, suppose you're looking for a gentle skin barrier cream to help ease the discomfort and distress of your little one's nappy rash or simply as an addition to an incontinence care routine. In that case, this versatile barrier cream is a perfect choice.
How to use AproDerm Barrier Cream
A nappy rash is skin irritation. It occurs when your precious little one's delicate skin is exposed to prolonged wetness and contact with wee and poo in their nappy. It's made worse by the nappy rubbing against the sensitive skin. Prevention is always better than cure or treatment, so follow these three simple steps to care for and protect your baby's delicate skin from the causes of nappy rash:
- Gently clean your baby's nappy area from front to back using either cotton balls dampened with water or wipes that are fragrance-free and soap-free
- Make sure to clean all the creases too.
- Put an appropriate clean nappy (make sure it's the correct size as we don't want it rubbing or leaking!) under your baby's bottom and gently pat the area dry with a clean cloth, ensuring that you don't rub
- Softly apply a thin layer of AproDerm Barrier Cream to reduce the risk of nappy rash or to help heal if the nappy rash is already present. A penny-sized amount will do just fine (this covers an area of 100 cm2 – roughly the size of a square coaster). If you apply too much, the site will become greasy.
- Stroke the cream gently onto the skin, ensuring it gets into the creases. Avoid rubbing the area.
- AproDerm Barrier cream is so gentle it can be applied to the baby's bottom after every nappy change, if required, up to 10 times a day. It is essential to use at nighttime, as your baby is in their nappy the longest without a change.
Be sure to change the nappy regularly to reduce your baby's skin contact with wee and poo. You should talk to your health visitor or GP for severe nappy rash or if your baby develops a temperature with inflammation.
