Having a calm baby keeps you level headed as your baby will be pacified until they get old enough to soothe themselves without a dummy or a soother.

Babies like to suckle; it is easier to get them to calm down by placing a silicone rubber teat, plastic teat or a latex rubber dummy in their mouths. These dummies help them relax, soothe them to sleep, and give parents the time to catch a breather. In choosing a dummy, you need to be particular about how soft it is. Not too soft, but comfortable enough to keep them busy. You can introduce a dummy when a baby is used to breastfeeding, and like all other baby equipment's and materials, hygiene is necessary.
