Eczema, Psoriasis & DermatitisIn stockGet started£7.69What is Eumovate Eczema and Dermatitis Cream 0.05%?
Eumovate is used for the short-term treatment and control of patches of red, itchy skin caused by eczema and dermatitis. The cream stops the skin’s over-reaction to the triggers that cause skin flare-ups, such as eczema or dermatitis. The active ingredient is clobetasone butyrate, a topical corticosteroid to control skin inflammation. The cream base also has moisturising properties.
When can I use Eumovate Cream?
Eumovate cream contains a steroid that reduces inflammation and flare-ups of psoriasis or eczema, often associated with swelling, itching, redness and irritation.
What is eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis?
Eczema is a dry skin condition which makes skin feel itchy, dry and irritated. Dermatitis is a sort of inflammation triggered when the skin comes in contact with something irritable, like harsh additives or disinfectants. Psoriasis is characterised by flaky, red skin patches covered in silver scales, which may be sore and itchy. Flare-ups of eczema and psoriasis may involve:
- Dry skin
- Redness
- Itching
- Blisters
- Cracked skin
- Inflammation
Managing eczema and dermatitis
Skin specialist advice - Skin specialists often advise people with eczema or dermatitis to use emollient (moisturising) skin products, including creams and bath oils, to keep moisture in the skin. This can make your skin more resistant to flare-ups. Avoid using soap and heavily scented products.
If a rash comes back - Sometimes people with dermatitis find their rash soon comes back after treatment or never disappears completely. This is often because they are still in contact with their trigger, i.e. what causes the reaction.
Common triggers of eczema and dermatitis include:
- Jewellery, including earrings or studs (especially gold-plated earrings)
- Coins
- Watch buckles, metal straps or the metal back of a watch
- Metal studs or fastenings on jeans, bras or underwear.
All of these have a metal in them called nickel, which is a very common trigger. If you react badly to nickel, all of the triggers in the list could be a problem. So, if you’ve reacted badly to one of the common triggers, you’ll need to watch out for the other common triggers.
Other common triggers of eczema and dermatitis include:
- In the home: such as plasters, furniture polish, varnishes, rubber gloves or elastic in clothes
- In substances you use at work, such as glues, oils, lubricants or cement
- In the garden: certain plants and weeds, gardening gloves.
How to use Eumovate Cream
- Adults and children 12 years and over: Use the cream once or twice daily for up to 7 days.
- Wash and dry your hands.
- Squeeze out the correct amount of cream onto your index finger.
- Half a fingertip will cover a patch of skin the same size as the palm of your hand.
- Gently rub cream into the skin you are treating once or twice a day.
- Wash your hands again (unless it is your hands you are treating).
How much Eumovate Cream to use
- Squeeze out the cream along the top of your index finger
- Squeeze the cream halfway to your fingertip from the crease in your finger. This will cover a patch of skin the same size as the palm of your hand.
- Use the fingertip unit as a guide. For smaller areas, use a smaller amount. This cream is not meant to treat large areas.
- If you use too much of the cream by mistake, don’t worry – but try to keep to the fingertip unit.
- Half a fingertip will cover a patch of skin the same size as the palm of your hand.
Important information about Eumovate

If the condition does not improve or worsens after using Eumovate, then treatment should be discontinued, and you should consult your doctor. Eumovate must not be applied to the genital or facial regions.

However, in certain circumstances, it may develop into an infection in the vagina and symptoms may spread to the surrounding area. The symptoms may include one or more of the following:
- Itching of the vagina and surrounding area (the vulva)
- Redness and swelling of the tissues of the vagina and vulva
- Soreness of the vagina and vulva
- White non-smelling discharge from the vagina
Thrush may be aggravated by sexual intercourse, but it is not a sexually transmitted disease. However, sometimes thrush can be passed to your partner through sexual intercourse.

- Soreness and redness of the penis
- Tightness of the foreskin
- A white non-smelling penile discharge

30 Loperamide Hydrochloride Diarrhoea Relief 2mg Capsules
DiarrhoeaIn stockMore InformationWhat is Loperamide Hydrochloride, and when is it used?
Loperamide is a medicine to treat Diarrhoea (runny poo). It can also help with short term diarrhoea or irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
Loperamide is also used for long-lasting Diarrhoea from bowel problems such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis and short bowel syndrome. If you have a colostomy to give you a stoma (an opening in your stomach to collect poo from your body), Loperamide can help to slow down your bowel and make your poo thicker.
Key facts of Loperamide
- Diarrhoea which starts suddenly usually gets better on its own within 5 to 7 days. If you need immediate, short term relief, taking Loperamide can cut down the number of times you go to the toilet, and it makes your poo less watery.
- Adults should take 2 tablets or capsules straight away if they suffer from short term diarrhoea. After this take 1 each time you do a runny poo.
- Don't exceed the recommended amount. Exceeding the recommended amount can lead to serious heart problems (including a fast or irregular heartbeat).
How will it treat my symptoms?
Loperamide works by slowing down the muscle movements in your gut, so an increased amount of water is absorbed from your stools. This leads to your stools becoming firmer, and they're passed less frequently.
What causes Diarrhoea?
Diarrhoea is usually caused by a bowel infection known as gastroenteritis. Other known causes are:
- Alcohol
- Appendicitis
- Food allergy
If you are taking any other medicine currently, check the side effects to make sure that they do not cause Diarrhoea. Chronic or long-term Diarrhoea can be a symptom of a more severe condition, such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

Our AproDerm Colloidal Oat Cream has been specially formulated with active colloidal oatmeal and apricot oils to help soothe, moisturise and protect your dry skin and skin suffering from Eczema or Psoriasis. Suitable for daily use, this paraffin-free cream is the perfect moisturiser and soap substitute to add to your skincare routine if you’re looking for something which will leave your skin looking healthy and hydrated but not greasy before you head out to start your day. SLS, parabens and fragrances can irritate and aggravate sensitive skin, so we’ve made sure to keep them out of all our products meaning they are safe and gentle enough to use on everyone in your family from birth upwards.
How to use AproDerm Colloidal Oat Cream
- Wash hands before applying.
- Break the tamper-evident seal on the pump and turn the nozzle clockwise to open.
- Press the pump ten times on your first use to release cream onto your hand.
- Apply AproDerm Colloidal Oat Cream regularly, liberally and frequently using gentle strokes and following the direction of hair growth to keep your skin soft and moisturised
- Do not rub, as this can cause irritation and itching and may block hair follicles, causing inflammation (folliculitis).
- For maximum effectiveness, leave a thin layer of cream on the skin to soak in.
- How often you apply, AproDerm Colloidal Oat Cream will depend on how dry your skin is.
- AproDerm Colloidal Oat Cream can be used instead of soap (soap substitute). Apply to your skin whilst showering to clean and moisturise simultaneously.
- Re-apply after showering to skin that is almost dry to lock in moisture.
- If you have eczema or psoriasis, continue using AproDerm Colloidal Oat Cream even after the skin has improved to reduce the risk of flare-ups.
- Safe to use during pregnancy or breastfeeding as AproDerm Colloidal Oat Cream is unlikely to have any ill effects when used as directed; however, if you are unsure, feel free to talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
- If you are accidentally swallowed, immediately see a doctor for external use, taking the pack with you.

Healthy Skin with Cetraben
Choosing the right moisturiser - Everyone’s eczema is different and personal to them, that is why picking the right moisturisers to help hydrate your skin is essential and can help you manage the symptoms of your condition quicker. If you have eczema-prone skin, finding which product is right for you can be challenging, but that’s where speaking to your pharmacist will help guide you in making the right decision. As a rule of thumb, lotions tend to be lighter and used for covering larger areas of eczema-prone skin. Ointments tend to be a thicker consistency and are best used before you go to bed, so the product has time to soak in. Creams are for everyday use and can be used directly onto the problem but also more frequently to keep the skin hydrated and nourished throughout the day.
Keeping Hydrated - Everyday skin loses water and loosing too much can lead to dehydrated skin, which can cause irritation and conditions like eczema. Everyday habits and environments can help fast-track water loss, such as air conditioning, the weather, and not drinking enough water. Hot showers can also contribute to dry skin, but a product like Cetraben Cleansing Cream is a soap substitute so not only will it keep you clean but hydrate your skin while in the shower. It is always recommended to use a moisturiser throughout the day, not just on flare-ups – this will help manage any on-going reoccurrence of dry skin.
Your skincare routine - Making sure you follow a simple skincare routine every day will help keep your skin hydrated and rid of irritants. It will also help ensure you can get on with your day without the stress and worry that eczema-prone skin can bring. As a first step, use a skin diary to keep on top of any flare-ups – this will help you isolate your eczema triggers and help you manage them better. Trying to establish a good skincare routine on top of everything else can be challenging, so set yourself a reminder so that you do not forget. And most importantly use a moisturiser that hydrates your skin frequently during the day, not just when flare-ups occur. You can find multiple products to help you throughout the day, such as Cetraben Cream which comes in a pocket-size 50ml, and Cetraben Ointment which can be used before bed.
