What is Fluconazole Fungal Infection Capsule?

This medicine contains Fluconazole, which belongs to a group of medicines called antifungals. These act to treat infections caused by fungi.

The medicine can be used to treat thrush (vaginal candidiasis). It may also be used by the woman’s sexual partner to treat associated penile thrush (candidal balanitis).

Thrush is a common infection caused by a yeast (or fungus), which may live harmlessly in the vagina without you even noticing it.

However, in certain circumstances, it may develop into an infection in the vagina and symptoms may spread to the surrounding area. The symptoms may include one or more of the following:

    • Itching of the vagina and surrounding area (the vulva)
    • Redness and swelling of the tissues of the vagina and vulva
    • Soreness of the vagina and vulva
    • White non-smelling discharge from the vagina

Thrush may be aggravated by sexual intercourse, but it is not a sexually transmitted disease. However, sometimes thrush can be passed to your partner through sexual intercourse.

If your partner has penile thrush, he may have one or more of the following symptoms:

    • Soreness and redness of the penis
    • Tightness of the foreskin
    • A white non-smelling penile discharge

What is the recommended dosage for Fluconazole?

    • Check the foil is not broken before use. If it is, do not take the capsule.
    • Adults aged 16 to 60 years: Take one capsule once only.
    • Swallow the capsule whole with water.
    • Do not give to children under 16 years, or take if you are an adult of 61 years or older unless your doctor tells you to.
    • Do not take more than the amount recommended above.
    • If symptoms do not go away within seven days, talk to your doctor.
    • If your symptoms worsen at any time, talk to your doctor.
    • If symptoms clear up but then return after seven days, you can take another capsule, unless you had an allergic reaction the first time.

    What is in this medicine

The capsule contains Fluconazole 150 mg which is the active ingredient.

What is Daktarin (Miconazole) 2% Cream

Daktarin 2% Cream is a medicine which is used in the treatment of fungal and associated bacterial infections of the skin and nails. Skin infections may appear on the hands, feet, outer ear, trunk or groin and include athlete’s foot, dhobie itch and intertrigo.

Daktarin 2% Cream is also effective against infected nappy rash. The cream contains miconazole nitrate which works by destroying both the fungus that causes the infection and some of the associated bacteria which may also be present. It also has moisturising properties to help soothe cracked, red skin.

This medicine is for use in adults and children of all ages.

How to use Daktarin (Miconazole) 2% Cream

    • Each tube of cream is sealed – use the cap to pierce the seal.
    • For cutaneous use only, which means it is applied directly to the affected area of skin.
    • Do not use more often than the stated dose shown below.

    How to apply the cream

    • Wash the infected area and dry it well. As many skin conditions are contagious, you should keep a towel and flannel for your own use and not share it so that you do not infect anyone else.
    • Apply the cream onto the infected area and surrounding skin.
    • Wash your hands carefully after applying the cream to avoid spreading the infection to other parts of the body or to other people. Similarly, clothing which comes into contact with the infected areas, such as socks, should be washed and changed frequently.

Adults and children of all ages:

    • Skin infections: Apply to the infected skin twice a day.
    • Nail infections: Apply to the infected area once or twice daily.

Continue treatment for 7 days (skin infections) or 10 days (nail infections) after all the symptoms have cleared to prevent them from coming back.

If symptoms persist talk to your doctor.

What is Loperamide Hydrochloride, and when is it used?

Loperamide is a medicine to treat Diarrhoea (runny poo). It can also help with short term diarrhoea or irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

Loperamide is also used for long-lasting Diarrhoea from bowel problems such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis and short bowel syndrome. If you have a colostomy to give you a stoma (an opening in your stomach to collect poo from your body), Loperamide can help to slow down your bowel and make your poo thicker.

    Key facts of Loperamide

    • Diarrhoea which starts suddenly usually gets better on its own within 5 to 7 days. If you need immediate, short term relief, taking Loperamide can cut down the number of times you go to the toilet, and it makes your poo less watery.
    • Adults should take 2 tablets or capsules straight away if they suffer from short term diarrhoea. After this take 1 each time you do a runny poo.
    • Don't exceed the recommended amount. Exceeding the recommended amount can lead to serious heart problems (including a fast or irregular heartbeat).

How will it treat my symptoms?

Loperamide works by slowing down the muscle movements in your gut, so an increased amount of water is absorbed from your stools. This leads to your stools becoming firmer, and they're passed less frequently.

    What causes Diarrhoea?

Diarrhoea is usually caused by a bowel infection known as gastroenteritis. Other known causes are:

    • Alcohol
    • Appendicitis
    • Food allergy

If you are taking any other medicine currently, check the side effects to make sure that they do not cause Diarrhoea. Chronic or long-term Diarrhoea can be a symptom of a more severe condition, such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

    Natural Vaginal Moisturiser

YES VM contains no Glycerine, no Propylene glycol, no Aspartame, no Parabens, no unpronounceable preservatives (like Diazolidinyl urea or Triethanoloamine or Imidazolidinyl urea) or Polyquaternium.

YES VM natural Vaginal Moisturiser is:

    • Guaranteed pure and natural by its certified organic status
    • Designed to be side effect free and deliver outstanding rehydration
    • Innovative formulation with natural and organic ingredients
    • Hypoallergenic: formulated to minimise the risk of allergies

    Why is Osmolality significant?

We mentioned Osmolality. A vaginal moisturiser is in contact with sensitive and dry tissues for much longer than an intimate lubricant, so it is even more important that the vaginal moisturiser is designed to release water where needed and to be formulated from gentle ingredients. YES VM has been designed to match these vulnerable tissues in two ways. Firstly the pH is balanced to match typical vaginal pH (moderately acidic at pH3.7-4.5), and secondly, the strength and concentration of the ingredients used in YES VM also match these tissues. This ingredients’ strength or density is called Osmolality. YES VM is iso-osmotic to vaginal muscles, this means that it will rehydrate tissues that need it, but will not pull or push water into the tissues, unlike intense hypo or strongly hyperosmotic moisturisers, so minimising any chance of tissue damage.

    How does YES VM work?

YES VM lubricates the vaginal area, the natural hydrocolloids (gums) are bio-adhesive, they gently hold on to the dry walls of the vagina and release water, where needed, rehydrating dry mucosa. When used regularly, YES VM will restore the natural protective acidity of the vagina.

    Directions for using YES VM

Each carton or pack of YES VM contains a leaflet with detailed instructions for use. To summarise:

    • The pre-filled applicators deliver the right amount of YES VM to where it is needed. Discreetly and hygienically.
    • The 100ml tube of YES VM does not have an applicator; it is used for finger application to the outer and inner intimate areas. Many women experience dryness not just internally.
    • For best results apply regularly. This may be daily initially, and then after a week or so, every third day. YES VM is safe to use daily or as often as is needed for comfort.
    • The frequency of reapplication depends on the severity of dryness. The natural and pure ingredients in YES VM mean you can apply as much as you need to feel comfortable, with no dosage concerns. YES VM is hormone-free.

What is Dermol 200 Shower Emollient

    • Dermol 200 Shower Emollient is an antimicrobial and emollient (softening and moisturising) treatment for you to apply to your skin as part of your normal showering routine.
    • It helps to treat and prevent dry and itchy (pruritic) skin conditions, especially eczema and dermatitis.
    • All age groups who normally shower can use Dermol 200 Shower Emollient.

There are two types of the active ingredient in this product:

Benzalkonium chloride and chlorhexidine dihydrochloride are antimicrobials. These help to:

    • combat bacteria present on your skin that can make eczema worse
    • prevent infection caused by scratching itchy skin.

Liquid paraffin and isopropyl myristate are emollients that help to:

    • soften, moisturise and protect your skin by trapping moisture in the skin and restoring the normal protective function of the skin
    • prevent the skin-drying and irritant effects that can be caused by washing and bathing and by the soaps, foaming additives and fragrances used in ordinary skin cleansing products.

This product can be used in addition to any other emollients or treatments your doctor or pharmacist may have given or prescribed for you to treat your dry skin condition.

How to use Dermol 200 Shower Emollient

Use it only on the skin. For maximum benefit you should use this product on a regular basis and whenever you shower.

The same instructions apply for all age groups who normally shower:

    • To use the product, remove the hooked overcap and attach it to the base of the bottle for hanging in the shower.
    • Holding the bottle upside down, gently squeeze the product into the palm of your hand.

For use as a soap substitute

    • Use Dermol 200 Shower Emollient to wash with instead of ordinary soap or shower gel. It will not foam or lather like ordinary cosmetic products.
    • After washing or showering, pat the skin dry with a soft towel (avoid rubbing as this can make dry skin conditions worse).

For use as a leave-on application (e.g. after showering):

    • Apply Dermol 200 Shower Emollient to the affected areas.
    • Gently smooth into the skin.
    • If necessary, allow time for any excess to soak in. Do not rub the skin vigorously.
    • Reapply as often as required.
    • If you are applying another treatment to the same areas of skin as Dermol 200 Shower Emollient, try to avoid mixing the two products. This can be achieved by applying the treatments alternately, leaving sufficient time to allow the previous application to soak in.

What does Dermol 200 Shower Emollient contain?

The active ingredients in this product are benzalkonium chloride (0.1% w/w), chlorhexidine dihydrochloride (0.1% w/w), liquid paraffin (2.5% w/w) and isopropyl myristate (2.5% w/w).

The other ingredients are cetostearyl alcohol, macrogol cetostearyl ether (cetomacrogol 1000), phenoxyethanol and purified water.

    • There is a plug with a hole in the neck of the bottle. Insert the end of the syringe into the hole and ensure it is secure.
    • Turn the bottle the right way up.
    • Place the syringe inside the child’s mouth against the cheek and press the plunger slowly to release the medicine gently.

What is Calpol Vapour Plug & Nightlight?

The Calpol Vapour Plug & Nightlight contains a blend of aromatic oils including lavender, chamomile, menthol, camphor and eucalyptus. These oils help to soothe and comfort your child at night time while helping to ease breathing.

    • Plugin
    • Up to 8 hours release
    • Easy breathing
    • Non-medicated aromatic vapours provide soothing night time comfort for your child.
    • Easy-to-replace refill pads last up to 8-hours.
    • Nightlight is activated at night when your lights go out.
    • Simple to use just plug it in!

How to use Calpol Vapour Plug & Nightlight

    • Cut across the top of the foil pouch to expose the pad.
    • Using the foil to hold the pad, slide the pad into the slot of the vapour plug. When replacing a used pad, inserting a fresh pad will push out the old one. Dispose of used pads safely without touching them directly. Always wash hands after replacing pads.
    • Connect to a power supply with the nightlight at the bottom. When using the vapour plug with a pad inserted, do not leave the unit in the plug socket for more than 16 hours at a time. After 16 hours, unplug the unit for a few hours before using again. Replace the pad before next use. Do not disassemble unit or nightlight. Nightlight goes on when the light goes out. When nightlight burns out replace the entire unit. Do not block the airflow of the vapour plug unit or light sensor on the bottom. If the light sensor is blocked, the nightlight will stay on.
    • Unplug the vapour plug when not in use.

    To Insert A New Pad

    • Allow the unit to cool for 10 minutes. Open a refill pad as described above. Inserting a new pad will push out the old one.
    • Be careful while removing and inserting the new pads as the device contains hot surfaces.
    • Remove and slide the old pad to use the nightlight alone.
    • Use only Calpol Vapour Plug Refill Pads with the Calpol Vapour Plug & Nightlight. The use of other substances may give rise to a toxic or fire risk.

Tips for using Calpol Vapour Plug & Nightlight

    • Allow 60-90 minutes for vapour to fill the room.
    • Strength of vapour will vary depending on room size and ventilation.
    • Vapour will be stronger, the closer the unit is to the user.

    What is Calprofen Ibuprofen Suspension

Ibuprofen belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory painkillers (NSAIDs).

Ibuprofen in Calprofen is used as an analgesic to relieve mild to moderate muscular pain and symptomatic relief of headache, earache, dental pain, and backache. It reduces the symptoms of cold and flu. It can also be used in minor injuries such as sprains and strains. Calprofen also brings down a high temperature, including post-immunisation fever.

How to take Calprofen Ibuprofen Suspension

    • The lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest duration necessary to relieve symptoms. If your child has an infection, consult a doctor immediately if symptoms (such as fever and pain) persist or worsen.
    • Always shake the bottle thoroughly before use.
    • Do not use more medicine than shown in the instructions below.
    • Always use the syringe supplied with the pack.

    How to use the syringe

    • After use, the plug should remain in the neck of the bottle. Wipe the plug and neck clean, and rinse the cap before replacing it.
    • Remove the syringe by holding onto the bottle and twisting it out gently.
    • Hold the syringe in place, turn the bottle upside down and gently pull the plunger to either 2.5 ml or 5 ml as appropriate (see tables for the correct dose).
    • Shake the bottle for at least 10 seconds and remove the cap.
    • The syringe should be washed and dried after use. It should be cleaned by hand without removing the plunger.
