What is Fluconazole Fungal Infection Capsule?

This medicine contains Fluconazole, which belongs to a group of medicines called antifungals. These act to treat infections caused by fungi.

The medicine can be used to treat thrush (vaginal candidiasis). It may also be used by the woman’s sexual partner to treat associated penile thrush (candidal balanitis).

Thrush is a common infection caused by a yeast (or fungus), which may live harmlessly in the vagina without you even noticing it.

However, in certain circumstances, it may develop into an infection in the vagina and symptoms may spread to the surrounding area. The symptoms may include one or more of the following:

• Itching of the vagina and surrounding area (the vulva)
• Redness and swelling of the tissues of the vagina and vulva
• Soreness of the vagina and vulva
• White non-smelling discharge from the vagina

Thrush may be aggravated by sexual intercourse, but it is not a sexually transmitted disease. However, sometimes thrush can be passed to your partner through sexual intercourse.

If your partner has penile thrush, he may have one or more of the following symptoms:

• Soreness and redness of the penis
• Tightness of the foreskin
• A white non-smelling penile discharge

What is the recommended dosage for Fluconazole?

• Check the foil is not broken before use. If it is, do not take the capsule.
• Adults aged 16 to 60 years: Take one capsule once only.
• Swallow the capsule whole with water.
• Do not give to children under 16 years, or take if you are an adult of 61 years or older unless your doctor tells you to.
• Do not take more than the amount recommended above.
• If symptoms do not go away within seven days, talk to your doctor.
• If your symptoms worsen at any time, talk to your doctor.
• If symptoms clear up but then return after seven days, you can take another capsule, unless you had an allergic reaction the first time.

How to take Codasolve Effervescent Tablets

• You must speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you need to use this medicine for over three days.
• Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
• Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
• Do not take for more than three days.
• Do not take anything else containing paracetamol while taking this medicine.

Adults: One to two tablets dissolved in water not more frequently than every 4-6 hours when necessary to a maximum of 8 tablets in 24 hours.

Elderly: Same as adult dose. A reduced dose may be required.

Children aged 16-18 years: One to two tablets dissolved in water every 6 hours when necessary to a maximum of 8 tablets in 24 hours.

Children aged 12-15 years: One tablet dissolved in water every 6 hours when necessary to a maximum of 4 tablets in 24 hours.

What do Codasolve Effervescent Tablets contain

The active ingredients are paracetamol, codeine phosphate hemihydrate and caffeine. Each tablet contains paracetamol 500 mg, codeine phosphate hemihydrate 8 mg and caffeine 30 mg.

The other ingredients are anhydrous citric acid, povidone, sodium hydrogen carbonate, sodium saccharin, anhydrous sodium carbonate, simeticone, polysorbate 80 and aspartame (E951).

What is Conotrane Cream

Conotrane Cream contains the active substances benzalkonium chloride and dimeticone. Conotrane Cream is used to protect the skin from moisture, irritants, chafing and contamination with bacteria or yeasts. It is used in the prevention and treatment of nappy rash, and can also be used in the prevention of pressure sores and for other skin irritations caused by rubbing or moisture.

How to use Conotrane Cream

This medicine is for cutaneous use. Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor, pharmacist or nurse has told you. Check with your doctor, pharmacist or nurse if you are not sure. The cream is for external use only and should be applied to the affected area(s) several times a day as needed. For nappy rash, the cream should be applied at every nappy change. 

What does Conotrane Cream contain?

The active substances are benzalkonium chloride 0.1% w/w and dimeticone 22% w/w.

• Do not give anything else containing paracetamol while giving this medicine.
• Do not give to babies under 2 months old.
• Only give if your baby weighs over 4 kg and was born after 37 weeks.
  

For the relief of fever after vaccinations at 2, 3 and 4 months: 2.5ml. (This dose may be given up to 4 times a day starting at the time of vaccination. Do not give more than 4 doses in any 24-hour period. Leave at least 4 hours between doses.
