What is The EyeBag - MGDRx - The Warm Eye Compress

The MGDRx EyeBag® is a patented, CE marked Class 1 medical device registered with the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).

The EyeBag® can be used as a treatment for sore gritty eyes, dry eye syndrome, Meibomian Gland Dysfunction, Chalazion treatment, Stye treatment and Blepharitis treatment.

The EyeBag® is a silk and cotton device that can be re-heated up to 200 times in a microwave. Simply heat for 30 or 40 seconds on full power and the EyeBag® will stay warm for up to 10 minutes.

How to use The EyeBag - MGDRx - The Warm Eye Compress

The EyeBag® should only be warmed by a responsible adult. Remove the EyeBag® from the blue box and place it on a clean, microwaveable plate. Do not use the metal griddle supplied with some microwaves as this may burn your EyeBag®.

Place in microwave and heat on full power:

Above 750w - 30 seconds

750w and below - 40 seconds 

Caution: If your microwave is greater than 1000w, you may need to reduce the time.

The EyeBag® is designed to be warmed in a microwave oven but if you do not have access to a microwave you can use the warming oven of an Aga, or even a conventional electric oven at a low temperature. Use the ‘plate warming’ setting which is about 50-60 degrees Centigrade or equivalent for about 10 minutes.

Older EyeBags® may take slightly longer to heat and will retain the heat for shorter periods of time. Usually, you can reheat an EyeBag® about 200 times before it needs to be replaced. You can cautiously increase the heating time a little if you need to, but you must not cook it for more than 60 seconds at a time.

How often should the EyeBag® be used?

We recommend using your EyeBag® twice a day for the first fortnight. After this 3-4 times a week is usual but adjust according to the severity of your symptoms.

Your EyeBag® should be replaced after 6 months use.

What is Hydrocortisone Cream?

Hydrocortisone creams, ointments and lotions contain a type of medicine known as a corticosteroid or 'steroid'. Corticosteroids are not the same as anabolic steroids.

Hydrocortisone creams are used on the skin to treat swelling, itching and irritation. They can help with skin problems such as:

Eczema is a dry skin condition which makes skin feel itchy, dry and irritated. Dermatitis is an inflammation triggered when the skin comes into contact with something irritable, like harsh additives and disinfectants.

How does HC45 Cream work to treat skin inflammation and redness?

HC45 cream includes 1% w/w hydrocortisone, which decreases the release of inflammatory substances within the bloodstream, thereby reducing swelling, itching and redness.

How to use HC45 Cream

Use sparingly on small skin areas, once or twice a day, for a maximum of 7 days.

Important Information about HC45 Cream

HC45 cream contains a steroid cream and should only be used for short-term use (maximum one week). Thin layers of HC45 cream must be applied only to the affected area, as steroids thin the skin. How to use Clarinaze Allergy Control Nasal Spray 0.05% 

• Use only in the nose.
• Shake gently before use.
• Prime by pumping 10 times before initial use or 2 times if unused for 14 days or more, until a fine mist is produced.

For adults aged 18 and over:

• 2 sprays in each nostril once a day.
• Do not use more than 4 sprays a day.

How To Use Piriteze Antihistamine Allergy Relief

Adults and children aged 12 years and over: Swallow one tablet once a day.

Chlorphenamine comes as 4mg tablets and as a liquid that you take orally. If you're taking the chlorphenamine in liquid form, follow the instruction manual that is included with the medicine with regards to how much is safe to take in each dose.

When taking Chlorphenamine tablets, the usual dose for allergies in adults and children aged 12 years and older is 4mg every 4 to 6 hours. Do not take more than 6 tablets (24mg) in 24 hours.

Catacrom Eye Drops is a medicine that affects cells called mast cells. It prevents them from releasing chemical substances that cause redness, watering, itching, and puffiness of allergic reactions.

These eye drops can be used by wearers of rigid or gas permeable contact lenses and can be used by people who are sensitive to preservatives in other kinds of eye drops.

How to use Catacrom Eye Drops

Catacrom Eye Drops are for use in the eye only.

Usual Dose

Catacrom Eye Drops are suitable for use in adults, the elderly and children.

The drops are in single-dose units. Put one or two drops into each eye four times a day, or as directed by your doctor. Avoid touching the eye with the dropper.

Read the instructions on the carton carefully. Wash your hands before and after you use these eye drops.

Steps for Using Catacrom Eye Drops

• Break off one unit dose container from the strip.
• Open the unit dose container by bending/twisting the tab (Figure 1).
• Tilt your head backwards.
• Gently pull down the lower lid to form a pouch (Figure 2).
• With the unit dose in the other hand, put one drop inside the pouch by gently squeezing the container. Try not to touch anything with the tip (Figure 3).
• Close the eye for about 30 seconds and at the same time gently press a finger against the corner of the closed eye, nearest the nose. (Figure 4).
• Some drops may roll down your face. This is normal. The eye holds less than one drop. Wipe away the excess with a clean tissue. If the drop of medication is not retained for any reason, another drop should be dropped into the eye pouch.
• If you use more than one type of eye drop, wait five minutes before putting in the next one. This prevents the first drop from being washed away.
• Repeat instructions 3-8 for the other eye.

How to use NeilMed NasaMist All-in-One Saline Spray

To moisturise and lubricate dry nasal passages, insert and the ultra-gentle mist tip into each nostril and press until adequate solution is sprayed and moisture is restored. Use as often as needed.

Apply the special conical blue lavage adapter snugly over the medium stream spray actuator. Standing in front of a sink; bend forward to your comfort level tilting your head down. Keeping your mouth open and without holding your breath, place the tip snugly to the nostril and squeeze the actuator until the solution starts draining from the opposite site nasal passage or from your mouth. Allow the flow to continue for 2 to 3 seconds.

Blow your nose gently, without pinching your nose completely because this will apply pressure on your eardrums. If tolerable, sniff in any residual solution remaining in the nasal passage once or twice prior to blowing your nose because this may clean out the posterior nasopharyngeal area, which is the area at which the solution will reach the back of your throat, so please spit it out. To help improve drainage of any residual solution, blow your nose gently while tilting your head to the side. Now repeat steps on your other nasal passage.
