What are Xailin HA Eye Drops

Xailin HA drops contain sodium hyaluronate - the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is found naturally in the eye and has lubricating properties. It improves the way tears are spread over the eye and entraps water and together with its coating properties, results in lasting lubrication.

Xailin HA drops are for alleviating symptoms of moderate to severe dry eye sensations. The highly purified specific fraction of sodium salt of hyaluronic acid in Xailin HA drops is free from animal proteins as it is produced by bacterial fermentation. The drops are preserved using a 'soft' preservative which breaks down on the eye into water and oxygen.

How to use Xailin HA Eye Drops

Remove the cap, tilt your head back and look up. Gently pull down the bottom eyelid and squeeze a drop of the solution into the bottom eyelid. Blink a few times, if you feel you have missed the eye then repeat the process again. 

Wipe away any excess with a tissue by dabbing the area surrounding the eye. 

Wash your hands after use.

Repeat this process 2-4 times a day, or as needed. If advised by a healthcare professional, follow their instructions properly.

How to use Xailin Fresh Dry Eye Drops

• Detach the vial to be used.
• To open, twist and pull the tab to remove.
• Tilt your head backwards and look upwards.
• Gently pull down the lower lid of the eye, insert one drop into the gap between your eye and eyelid and blink a few times to spread the drops evenly over the surface of the eye.
• Repeat the process for the other eye if you have been told to use it in both eyes.
• Discard the vial after a single-use.

1 drop 2 to 4 times a day as needed or as directed by your healthcare practitioner.

You can also apply 1 to 2 drops directly onto the contact lens before application.

• Remove the outer cap.
• If you are a contact lens wearer, remove your lenses.
• Tilt your head back and lookup.
• Gently pull down the lower lid of the eye to create a small pocket between your eyelid and your eye.
• Hold the tube between the thumb and middle finger of the other hand, turn the tube upside down near to the eye, and then try not to touch the eye with the nozzle.
• Apply sufficient pressure on the tube to discharge a thin line of ointment roughly half an inch (1 centimetre), or as directed by your doctor, pharmacist, or optician.
• Blink your eye a couple of times.
• If you missed the eye, then add the following line of ointment.
• Carefully wipe away any excess Xailin Night round the eye with a tissue.
• Repeat the procedure for the other eye, if required.
• Replace the outer cap on the container, trying not to touch the applicator tip using anything, including the eye or your palms.
• Leave at least 30 minutes between administrations of any other ophthalmic medicine.
