Dulcolax Tablets are used for the short-term relief of occasional constipation. Dulcolax Tablets contain bisacodyl and belong to a group of medicines known as stimulant laxatives, which increase bowel movements. This medicine does not help with weight loss.
What is constipation?
Healthy and regular bowel movements are essential for most people. However, what is 'normal and regular' varies from person to person. Some may have a bowel movement every day, others less often. Whatever it is like for you, your bowel movement should have a regular pattern.
- Constipation is an occasional problem for some people. For others, it may happen more often.
- It happens when the typical muscle actions in the bowel (large intestine) slow down. This can mean that material is not easily eliminated from the body
The cause of constipation is often not known. It can be associated with:
- A sudden change in diet
- A diet with not enough fibre
- Not drinking enough fluids.
- Loss of 'tone' of the bowel muscles in older people
- Pregnancy
- Medicines such as morphine or codeine
- Having to stay in bed for a long time
- Lack of exercise
Whatever the cause, constipation can be uncomfortable. It may make you feel bloated and heavy or generally 'off-colour'. Sometimes it causes headaches.
It is recommended to use changes in diet and bulk forming medicines to control constipation before using this medicine.
These healthy tips are recommended to try to prevent constipation happening:
- Eat a balanced diet including fresh fruit and vegetables
- Drink enough water so that you do not become dehydrated
- Keep up your exercise and stay fit
- Make time to empty your bowels when your body tells you
How to take Dulcolax Tablets
For constipation: Adults (including the elderly):
1 to 2 tablets at night.
- Swallow the tablets whole with water. The tablets should not be chewed or crushed.
- Milk, antacids or proton pump inhibitors (medicines which reduce stomach acid) should not be taken within one hour before or after taking Dulcolax Tablets. This is because they will stop the Dulcolax Tablets from working correctly.
If you have not taken Dulcolax Tablets before, start with one tablet and increase to two if necessary. When your bowel regularity has returned to normal, the dose can usually be stopped.
Note:
- This medication should NOT be taken for more than 5 days without medical supervision.
- This medication is for short term use only.
- This medication does NOT help with weight loss.
Length of treatment
These tablets should not be taken every day for more than 5 days. If you need laxatives every day, then you should see your doctor to find the cause of your constipation. Overuse can be harmful.

VIAGRA Connect 50mg - 4 Tablets
Erectile DysfunctionIn stockMore InformationWhat is Viagra Connect?
VIAGRA Connect is a treatment for adult men (aged 18 years and older) with erectile dysfunction (also known as impotence). This is when a man cannot get or keep an erection hard enough for satisfactory sexual activity.
Erections depend on many things, including proper blood flow to the penis. If blood cannot flow adequately to the penis, it can cause erectile dysfunction. Erectile dysfunction is a common problem and can affect men differently. Some men cannot get an erection, other men can get an erection but it may not be hard enough for sex, or they may lose their erection before or during sex.
VIAGRA Connect contains the active ingredient sildenafil. It belongs to a group of medicines called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors. It works by relaxing the blood vessels in your penis, allowing blood to flow into your penis when you get sexually excited and causing an erection. VIAGRA Connect will only help you to get an erection if you are sexually excited (stimulated).
How to take Viagra Connect Tablets
- Take one tablet, as needed, approximately 1 hour before sexual activity;
- Swallow the tablet whole with water;
- Do not take more than one tablet a day
You will not get an erection just by taking VIAGRA Connect. This medicine will only help you get an erection if you are sexually aroused. You and your partner should engage in foreplay just as you would if you were not taking a medicine for erectile dysfunction.
The amount of time this medicine takes to work varies from person to person, but it normally takes between 30 to 60 minutes to work. You may take it up to 4 hours before sexual activity.
Remember to relax and be patient. There is no rush. If you are not successful the first time, try to have sex again, but remember you can only take 1 tablet a day. For most men, VIAGRA Connect will work the first or second time they try it. If it has been some time since you were able to get or keep an erection, it may take a couple of attempts before you are able to achieve an erection. If you feel the effect of VIAGRA Connect is too strong or too weak, talk to your pharmacist or doctor.

Clinically proven, Bepanthen works by forming a transparent layer protecting even the most delicate skin from irritants and rubbing. The water-in-oil formulation keeps the skin healthy and hydrated, which is essential to maintain its natural protective barrier.

Tattoo CareOut of stockMore InformationWhat is LMX4 Lidocaine 4% Cream
LMX4 is a type of medicine called a local anaesthetic used to numb an area of the body.
LMX4 temporarily numbs the surface of the skin. It can be used to provide pain relief when a needle is inserted into the skin for clinical purposes, such as into a vein (venipuncture or venous cannulation). It may also be used to numb the skin prior to administration of painful topical treatments on larger surface areas of intact skin.
How to use LMX4 Lidocaine 4% Cream
Always use LMX4 exactly as instructed in this leaflet. Ask the doctor, nurse or other trained person involved in your treatment immediately if you have any questions.
How you use LMX4 depends upon why you are using the product. Make sure you follow the correct dosage. If you require further advice the doctor, nurse or other trained person involved in your treatment can either apply the cream for you, or show you where and how you should use the cream.
Precautions when using LMX4:
- For external use only. Do not exceed the recommended dose.
- Do not apply to raw or blistered skin, in the ear, inside the nose, in the mouth, to the anus (back passage), where there is a skin rash or eczema, or where there are cuts, grazes or wounds.
- Avoid getting LMX4 cream in your eyes, as it may cause irritation. If you accidentally get any in your eye, immediately rinse it well with lukewarm water or sodium chloride (salt) solution and protect it until sensation returns.
- LMX4 blocks all sensations in the treated area. Avoid scratching, rubbing and exposure to extreme hot and cold until the anaesthetic effect has worn off.
