This medicine is used in adults for the short term treatment of reflux symptoms (for example, heartburn and acid regurgitation).
Reflux is the backflow of acid from the stomach into the gullet ("foodpipe") which may become inflamed and painful. This may cause you symptoms such as a painful sensation in the chest rising up to your throat (heartburn) and a sour taste in the mouth (acid regurgitation).
Nexium Control is not meant to bring immediate relief. You may need to take the tablets for 2-3 days in a row before you feel better. You must talk to a doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 14 days.
What are the symptoms of heartburn?
The normal symptoms of reflux are a painful sensation in the chest rising up to your throat (heartburn) and a sour taste in the mouth (acid regurgitation).
Why do you get these symptoms?

What can I do to help relieve my symptoms?
- Eat healthier food and try to avoid spicy and fatty foods and large meals late before bedtime.
- Avoid fizzy drinks, coffee, chocolate and alcohol.
- Eat slowly and eat smaller portions.
- Try to lose weight.
- Stop smoking.

Peptac Aniseed Liquid contains 3 active ingredients that work together to relieve the symptoms of gastro-oesophageal reflux. This occurs when stomach acid flows into the food pipe, which can be caused by many different factors and the most common is just after eating. Reflux symptoms can include painful heartburn, indigestion or acid regurgitation.
The active ingredients include sodium alginate, sodium bicarbonate and calcium carbonate and they work together by preventing the acid from flowing back into the food pipe, but they are not absorbed into the bloodstream. Their effects last for about 3-4 hours on top of the stomach contents and are then broken down in the digestive system.
How to take Peptac Antacid
For children aged 6-12, give them one or two 5ml spoonfuls after dinner time, or at bedtime, up to four times every day. For children over 12 and adults, double the dose up to four times every day.

Silicol Gel - 200ml
IBSIn stockMore InformationWhat is Silicol Gel
Silicolgel contains silicic acid, a compound of the mineral substance silicon and oxygen in a colloidal (highly dispersible) and hydrated form. Silicon is the second most abundant element on Earth, after oxygen. It is found in nature as silicon dioxide and in the hydrated or aqueous form as silicic acid.
Gastrointestinal disorders are usually caused by irritants and by harmful and toxic substances and pathogens. When the gastrointestinal tract is disturbed by such toxic substances and pathogens, it cannot function normally, which may lead to physical discomfort.
The advantage of Silicolgel exists in silicic acid's large and highly reactive surface. When taken internally, it forms a protective and soothing coating over the lining of the stomach and intestines.
How to take Silicol Gel
Take Silicolgel at least 1 hour before or after the intake of medicines.
Take one tablespoonful (15 ml) of Silicolgel thrice daily, preferably before meals.
Silicolgel can be taken either undiluted or diluted with water. After acute symptoms ease, treatment with Silicolgel can continue for another few days.
If the symptoms have not reduced after three days, consult a medical doctor.
With diarrhoea, it is necessary to replace lost fluids.
What does Silicol Gel contain
3.5 g Silicon Dioxide in 100 ml Silicic Acid gel.
Preservatives: Sorbic Acid (E 200), Sodium Benzoate (E 211).

Gaviscon Advance belongs to a group of medicines called "reflux suppressants".
This product forms a protective layer that floats on top of the stomach contents. This layer prevents reflux and keeps the stomach contents away from the lining of the food pipe to relieve heartburn symptoms and acid indigestion.
Gaviscon can also be used to relieve the symptoms of conditions such as hiatus hernia (protrusion of muscle through a muscle wall), reflux oesophagitis (inflamed food pipe) and chloroquine (a medication used to prevent malaria), bisphosphonates (a medication used to treat osteoporosis) and estramustine (a medication to treat prostate cancer).
