What is Full Marks Solution 5 Minute Treatment
Used according to the instructions, clinically proven Full Marks Solution and removal kills head lice and helps to eliminate eggs. Unlike traditional head lice treatments which poison lice, Full Marks Solution has a physical action on the lice causing them to dehydrate (lose water) and die. They can then be removed along with any eggs using the Full Marks removal comb supplied.
Each application requires approximately 50ml of the solution to treat a head lice infestation on one head. However, you should apply enough to cover scalp and hair from root to tip. Long and/or thick hair may require more solution.
How to use Full Marks Solution 5 Minute Treatment
Detection - The only way to confirm a head lice infestation is by finding a live moving louse on the head. This can be done with the specially designed Full Marks Detector Comb. Weekly detection is recommended for on-going prevention.
Treatment - You should apply enough solution to cover the scalp and hair to help ensure complete success. First, comb through the dry hair with a normal comb to remove any tangles. Shake the bottle and apply the solution to dry hair by applying close to the root. Ensure the entire scalp and hair are fully coated with the solution. Massage in and leave on the hair for 5 minutes.
Removal - After 5 minutes comb through the hair using the fine metal toothed Full Marks removal comb provided to remove dead lice and any eggs
Tip - To ensure a thorough job, divide the hair into four quarters and comb each quarter separately. Take a small section of the hair from the quarter; place the teeth of the comb as close as you can to the scalp and comb downwards away from the head to the tips of the hair. After each stroke, rinse the comb to remove any lice and eggs and wipe it on a tissue

Derbac M Liquid is a liquid emulsion containing the active ingredient Malathion. It is used for the eradication of head lice, pubic lice and their eggs and for the treatment of scabies in adults, the elderly and children aged 6 months and over. As Derbac M does not contain alcohol, it may be more suitable for those with asthma or eczema.
How to use Derbac M Liquid
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor if you are not sure. Should a member of your family need treatment check other members of your family for live lice with a detector comb and treat if necessary.
Adults, the elderly and children aged 6 months and over:
For the treatment of head lice:
- Apply sufficient liquid to dry hair to ensure that no part of the scalp is left uncovered. Work into the hair spreading the liquid evenly from root to tip.
- Leave the hair to dry naturally in a warm but well ventilated room.
- After 12 hours or the next day, if preferred, shampoo hair in the normal way.
- Rinse the hair and comb whilst wet to remove dead lice and eggs (nits) using a nit comb.
- The treatment should be repeated after 7 days.
For treatment of Crab (pubic) lice:
- Apply to the entire skin surface
- Pay particular attention to all hairy areas including beards and moustaches. Avoid any other areas above the neck.
- Leave on for at least 1 hour before washing but preferably leave on overnight. Wash off in the usual manner.
- The treatment should be repeated after 7 days.
For the treatment of Scabies:
- Apply to the entire skin surface
- In adults, it may not be necessary to apply above the neck. If used in children under the age of 2 years, a thin layer of the liquid should be applied to scalp, face and ears, avoiding the eyes and mouth.
- Do not wash off or bathe for 24 hours. If hands or any other parts must be washed during this period, the treatment must be reapplied to those areas immediately.
- The treatment should be repeated after 7 days.
No special sterilisation of clothing is necessary, ordinary laundering or dry cleaning with hot iron pressing is sufficient.
The infestation is cleared by the treatment. However, the itching and rash may persist for up to 7 days. An anti-irritant cream can be applied if necessary.
Family members and close contacts should also be treated simultaneously.

Permethrin (Lyclear) 5% w/w Cream - 30g
Head Lice & ScabiesIn stockMore InformationWhat is Lyclear Dermal Cream?
Lyclear Dermal Cream is used to treat infestations of scabies and crab lice on the body. It contains the ingredient permethrin which belongs to a group of medicines called pyrethroids which kill mites such as scabies and crab lice.
You must talk to a doctor if the symptoms worsen or do not improve
How to use Lyclear Dermal Cream
- Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
- Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
- To pierce tube, remove the cap and reverse it over the nozzle, push firmly and turn.
- Apply the cream to clean, dry, cool skin.
- Do not take a hot bath or shower immediately before treatment.
To treat scabies
- Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age - Apply up to 30 g of cream (corresponding to one tube of 30 g).
- Children aged from 6 - 12 years - Apply up to 15 g of cream (corresponding to ½ tube of 30 g).
- Children aged from 2 months - 5 years - Apply up to 7.5 g of cream (corresponding to ¼ tube of 30 g).
To treat crab lice
- Adults over 18 years of age - Apply up to 30 g of cream (corresponding to one tube of 30 g).
How and when should you use Lyclear Dermal Cream?
Lyclear Dermal Cream is for cutaneous use only.
Take care not to allow the cream to get into the eyes or come into contact with mucous membranes (inside the nose or throat, genital region) or open wounds. If accidental contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.
Adults should apply the cream to the whole body including the neck, palms of the hands and soles of the feet. The head and face can be spared unless this area includes places affected by scabies (itch mites).
When applying the cream, the areas between the fingers and toes (also under the finger- and toe-nails), the wrists, elbows, armpits, external genitalia and buttocks should be especially carefully treated.
For the treatment of crab lice in adults: Any facial hair (beards moustaches) and eyelashes should be checked for the presence of live lice and eggs. The cream should be applied to any facial hair, carefully avoiding eyes. If live lice or eggs are found on the eyelashes they should be removed carefully using tweezers. The cream should not be applied to the eyelashes because the cream can cause moderate eye irritation.
Children: Children should apply the cream uniformly to the whole body, including the palms of the hands, soles of the feet, neck, face, ears, and scalp. Parts of the skin around the mouth (because the cream could be licked off) and the eyes should be spared. Keep your child from licking the cream from the hands. If necessary, children should wear gloves. There is no adequate experience in infants and toddlers. Treatment to children up to the age of 23 months should therefore only be treated under close medical supervision.
Elderly: Elderly patients (over 65 years) should use the cream in the same way as adults but in addition, the face, ears and scalp should also be treated. Care should be taken to avoid applying the cream to areas of skin around the eyes.
How long should you use Lyclear Dermal Cream?
One application of Lyclear Dermal Cream is usually sufficient.
Leave the cream on the skin for at least eight hours, for example, overnight. Avoid bathing, showering or washing during this period, because this could endanger the success of treatment. If, by way of an exception, you have to wash your hands within the eight hour period, then reapply the cream to the hands and wrist area. The same applies if you have to wash other parts of treated skin (buttocks, external genitalia).
After at least eight hours, take a shower or wash the skin with soap and water.
Provided these instructions for use are followed, a single application is generally sufficient for successful treatment. However, in cases of persistent or renewed infestation, it may be necessary to repeat the treatment after 14 days.
What does Lyclear Dermal Cream contain?
The active substance is Permethrin (5% w/w).
