Eczema, Psoriasis & DermatitisIn stockGet started£7.69What is Eumovate Eczema and Dermatitis Cream 0.05%?
Eumovate is used for the short-term treatment and control of patches of red, itchy skin caused by eczema and dermatitis. The cream stops the skin’s over-reaction to the triggers that cause skin flare-ups, such as eczema or dermatitis. The active ingredient is clobetasone butyrate, a topical corticosteroid to control skin inflammation. The cream base also has moisturising properties.
When can I use Eumovate Cream?
Eumovate cream contains a steroid that reduces inflammation and flare-ups of psoriasis or eczema, often associated with swelling, itching, redness and irritation.
What is eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis?
Eczema is a dry skin condition which makes skin feel itchy, dry and irritated. Dermatitis is a sort of inflammation triggered when the skin comes in contact with something irritable, like harsh additives or disinfectants. Psoriasis is characterised by flaky, red skin patches covered in silver scales, which may be sore and itchy. Flare-ups of eczema and psoriasis may involve:
- Dry skin
- Redness
- Itching
- Blisters
- Cracked skin
- Inflammation
Managing eczema and dermatitis
Skin specialist advice - Skin specialists often advise people with eczema or dermatitis to use emollient (moisturising) skin products, including creams and bath oils, to keep moisture in the skin. This can make your skin more resistant to flare-ups. Avoid using soap and heavily scented products.
If a rash comes back - Sometimes people with dermatitis find their rash soon comes back after treatment or never disappears completely. This is often because they are still in contact with their trigger, i.e. what causes the reaction.
Common triggers of eczema and dermatitis include:
- Jewellery, including earrings or studs (especially gold-plated earrings)
- Coins
- Watch buckles, metal straps or the metal back of a watch
- Metal studs or fastenings on jeans, bras or underwear.
All of these have a metal in them called nickel, which is a very common trigger. If you react badly to nickel, all of the triggers in the list could be a problem. So, if you’ve reacted badly to one of the common triggers, you’ll need to watch out for the other common triggers.
Other common triggers of eczema and dermatitis include:
- In the home: such as plasters, furniture polish, varnishes, rubber gloves or elastic in clothes
- In substances you use at work, such as glues, oils, lubricants or cement
- In the garden: certain plants and weeds, gardening gloves.

Vagisan Moisturising Cream For Vaginal Dryness - 50g
MenopauseIn stockMore InformationWhat is Vagisan Moist Cream?
Vagisan Moist Cream is a smooth, white cream developed for use in symptoms of vaginal dryness. Vagisan Moist Cream contains no hormones (oestrogens) and can therefore be used alongside hormone replacement therapy or alternating with vaginal creams or pessaries that do contain hormones (oestrogen). Thanks to the addition of lactic acid, the cream is set at a pH of 4.5. As a result, Vagisan Moist Cream helps maintain a natural pH within the vagina. Two effects contribute towards the relief of symptoms of vaginal dryness by Vagisan Moist Cream:
- The cream has a high water content, thereby moisturising the skin within the vagina and external genital area.
- Nurturing lipids (fats) help to keep the skin supple.
Regular use of Vagisan Moist Cream may help prevent irritation and inflammation within the vagina and external genital area. The cream can also be used for vaginal dryness before sexual intercourse. In women wishing to conceive, there are no contraindications to using Vagisan Moist Cream for vaginal dryness, as sperm motility is not impaired.
When to use Vagisan Moist Cream?
For symptoms caused by dryness of the vagina and external genital area (dryness, stinging, itching, minor lesions and pain during intercourse, e.g. during the menopause due to an oestrogen deficiency). Vagisan Moist Cream can also be used to facilitate sexual intercourse.
What you should know about the symptoms of "vaginal dryness"
The symptoms of vaginal dryness can severely affect the quality of life of those women affected. The sensation of dryness is often accompanied by other discomforts, such as itching, stinging, minor lesions and soreness involving the vagina, vaginal opening and external genital area. In many cases, these symptoms also make sexual intercourse painful.
Commonly affected are women in menopause (which, in some cases, starts as early as at 40 years of age) and during the years thereafter. In such cases, vaginal dryness is caused by the decreasing production of sex hormones (including oestrogen). Less vaginal fluid is produced within the vagina; the skin becomes thinner and more fragile. Whilst this process is quite normal, it can bring considerable discomfort.
After womb or ovarian surgery, during pregnancy and breastfeeding or while taking the Pill, hormone deficiency/fluctuations or hormonal imbalance can also lead to symptoms of vaginal dryness.
Some metabolic disorders (e.g. diabetes), medications, radiation treatment for cancer and even stress can also be associated with dryness in the internal and external genital area.
How to use Vagisan Moist Cream
Vagisan Moist Cream is intended for application in the vagina and to the external genital area. For the treatment of vaginal symptoms, Vagisan Moist Cream is inserted into the vagina. The cream can be applied with the applicator provided or without an applicator. If you use the applicator, fill it halfway (about 2.5g cream). To make it easier to insert the applicator, a small amount of cream can also be applied to the area around the vaginal entrance. If you prefer not to use the applicator, a ribbon of cream about 2cm long can be inserted into the vagina using a clean finger. The cream should be applied daily, preferably in the evening before bedtime (if necessary, wear a panty liner). Once symptoms have improved, you can reduce how often you use the cream, depending on your needs. For symptoms in the vaginal opening and external genital area, use a clean finger to apply and spread the cream up to several times a day as needed; a ribbon of cream about 0.5cm long is sufficient.
The cream can also be used before sexual intercourse or during menstrual periods. If Vagisan Moist Cream is well tolerated, it may also be used over prolonged periods, even during pregnancy (without the applicator; see Instructions for use during pregnancy) and breast-feeding.
- Loosen the plunger, so that it can be moved inside the applicator barrel
- With the tube opening facing upwards, attach applicator onto tube opening
- Fill the applicator barrel halfway with cream (about 2.5 g cream), by gently and evenly squeezing the tube
- Remove the applicator from the tube
- You can insert the applicator into the vagina whilst lying down (on your back) or standing up (like when inserting a tampon). Carefully insert the applicator as deeply as possible into the vagina; push the plunger to empty the applicator and insert the cream into the vagina (see diagram).
- After use, clean the applicator as follows: firmly press the spherical end of the plunger onto a firm surface. This will separate the plunger from the applicator barrel. Then clean the plunger and barrel separately in warm water.
What does Vagisan Moist Cream contain?
Aqua, Benzyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Palmitate, Lactic Acid, Octyldodecanol, Polysorbate 60, Sodium Lactate, Sorbitan Stearate. Vagisan Moist Cream contains no fragrances.

Information about vaginal thrush
Vaginal thrush (candidiasis) is a common infection that most women suffer from at some time in their lives and is not caused by lack of personal hygiene.
Thrush is caused by a yeast (fungus) called Candida which lives harmlessly in the vagina and other parts of the body, without you even noticing it. However, the natural balance that keeps Candida under control can be upset by many factors such as hormonal changes (menstruation, contraceptive pill, pregnancy, menopause), poor health, antibiotics, perfumed soaps, bath additives and tight clothing.
If the natural pH balance is altered, the level of yeast increases and can develop into a thrush infection-causing any of the following symptoms: persistent burning and/or itching around the vagina and vulva, redness, swelling and soreness of the tissues of the vagina and vulva and a whitish, odourless discharge from the vagina. Not everybody who has thrush has all these symptoms; you may have only one of them.
How to avoid future recurrences of thrush
✓ Wear cotton knickers and loose clothing.
✓ Wash daily.
✓ After going to the toilet, wipe yourself from the front to back as a thrush infection may be transferred from the bowel.
✓ Change your sanitary protection regularly.
✗ Try to avoid wearing tights, nylon knickers and close-fitting jeans.
✗ Try to avoid washing with perfumed soaps or using vaginal deodorants.
✗ Do not wash or rub yourself hard with sponges or flannels and avoid hot baths with strong perfumed oils
If you are still worried or have any questions about the symptoms or the treatment of thrush, do not hesitate to ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.

- Helps prevent the recurrence of vaginal infections.
- Restores the natural environment in the vagina
- Re-establishes the vaginal microflora creating a protective barrier
A physiological vaginal environment is maintained by the natural balance of microorganisms known as vaginal Aora. Lactobacilli make up the majority of vaginal flora, therefore providing a natural defence against vaginal infections such as thrush.
One of the ways lactobacilli do this is by creating a protective barrier over the vaginal walls, helping prevent the growth of harmful microorganisms that can cause vaginal infections.
Using Canesflor can help prevent the recurrence of vaginal infections such as thrush by restoring and maintaining the optimal level of lactobacilli in the vagina and restoring the physiological pH, hence keeping physiological balance.
Canesflor can also be used as soon as you finish (i.e. next day) the appropriate medication for your vaginal infection to help prevent a recurrence.

Canesten Cream treats fungal skin infections such as ringworm, athlete’s foot, fungal nappy rash and fungal sweat rash. It is also used to relieve irritation of the vulva (external thrush) or the end of the penis, which may be associated with thrush.
The active substance in Canesten Cream is clotrimazole. Clotrimazole belongs to a group of medicines called imidazoles and is an antifungal agent which fights the cause of fungal skin infections.
What are fungal infections?
Fungal infections are very common and affect many people. Some common fungal skin infections include athlete’s foot, nappy rash, sweat rash and ringworm.
There are two main types of fungal infection:
- The tinea group is also known as dermatophytes.
- The candida group, also known as yeasts.
The tinea group includes athlete’s foot and ringworm, easily spread by contact. The fungus that causes athlete’s foot usually lives harmlessly on our skin and environment. Damp, moist conditions can upset the natural balance that normally controls it. This could happen, for example, through regularly wearing training shoes that keep the feet hot and sweaty. Since this fungus is contagious, it can often be picked up in changing rooms. Ringworm is usually passed on from animals to children. Ringworm is not a worm; its name comes from the circular worm-like shape that it forms on the skin. The main symptom for both is an itchy, scaly and irritating rash.
The candida group can be responsible for conditions such as sweat rash and thrush. Sweat rash can appear anywhere on the body but is more likely to occur where folds of skin rub against each other, such as: under the breasts, under arms, around the groin and on the back. Candida is a yeast-like fungus that usually lives harmlessly on our skin. However, the natural balance that normally controls it can be upset by factors such as sweating, tight or synthetic clothing and cosmetic preparations such as bath additives. When levels of the yeast increase, the skin can develop the following symptoms: persistent burning and itching, soreness and a variety of patches or blemishes, as well as a softened and soggy appearance.
The candida group can also be responsible for nappy rash. Most babies develop nappy rash at some stage. Although this is rarely a serious condition, the rash can be extremely distressing for both you and your baby. Nappy rash which lasts longer than three days may be fungal in origin and will require an antifungal treatment. The symptoms of fungal nappy rash include red patches on the baby’s bottom and genitals, burning and itching.

We’ve developed an innovative and reliable self-test to help you quickly determine which common vaginal infection (bacterial vaginosis or thrush) you could be suffering from and enable you to treat it quickly and effectively.
Canestest links vaginal pH and symptoms to a probable condition: first, the easy-to-use swab helps you to find out whether or not your vaginal pH level is abnormally increased. Then, this result should be interpreted in conjunction with the symptoms table on the pack, helping you to find the right treatment.

It’s an innovative solution that will put you back in control of your intimate health and give you the ability to choose the treatment you need to effectively deal with your infection.
Thrush vs Bacterial Vaginosis
While both thrush and bacterial vaginosis (BV) are very common, they’re two different types of infections, and you need to treat them differently. However, they are not always known and not always easy to identify. Thrush is caused by an overgrowth of the yeast (Candida albicans) which often leads to symptoms such as itchiness, soreness or white discharge. BV is caused by an overgrowth of bacteria regularly found in your vagina. BV symptoms usually include a fishy odour and a greyish-white, watery discharge. With Canestest, you can test before you treat, so you know you’re using the right treatment for your infection.
How does Canestest work?
Your vagina normally has an acidic pH level – this keeps the good and bad bacteria that live in your healthy vagina in check. Any changes to your vaginal pH balance can cause and can also be an indication of vaginal infections such as BV. Canestest tells you if you have a relevant pH shift in your vagina and helps you to understand and diagnose the type of vaginal condition you’re likely to suffer from. A higher vaginal pH indicates that you may be suffering from BV while a healthy vaginal pH means your symptoms are probably caused by thrush. Canestest has been proven to help detect changes in vaginal pH with more than 90% accuracy.
How to use Canestest Self-Test for Vaginal Infections
It’s easy and straightforward to use Canestest at home. It’s similar to inserting a tampon, and it shouldn’t cause you any discomfort. To get the most accurate results, you need to make sure you don’t use Canestest less than one day before or after your period or if you have any signs of your period or vaginal bleeding. You also need to allow 12 hours after having sexual intercourse or vaginal douching.
Step 1 - Unwrap the Canestest swab (make sure the swab tip does not come into contact with anything before you insert it into your vagina)
Step 2 - Hold the Canestest swab by the handle and insert the yellow tip into your vagina, rotate the swab and then remove
Step 3 - After 10 seconds check the tip of the Canestest swab to see if the colour has stayed the same or changed to blue or green
How to interpret the Test results?
If your Canestest swab didn’t change colour after 10 seconds, it means that you may be suffering from thrush. If you have symptoms such as an itchy or sore vagina, or thick, white discharge, this is likely the case. If the tip of the swab did not change colour after 10 seconds and you do not have the symptoms of vaginal thrush indicated in the symptoms table, then it is likely that you do not suffer from these common vaginal infections.
If your Canestest swab changed colour and the tip becomes blue or green, it means that you may have a BV infection. BV infections are usually accompanied by symptoms such as a thin, grey discharge and an unpleasant fishy smell. However, in the case of yellow-green, frothy discharge associated with bad odour and painful urination, you may be suffering from trichomoniasis. In this case, you should consult your doctor.
