    What is Dermol 500 Lotion

Dermol 500 Lotion is an antimicrobial and emollient (softening and moisturising) treatment for application to dry or problem skin.

It is for use in two ways:

    • as a leave-on application
    • as a soap-substitute

It helps treat and prevent dry and itchy (pruritic) skin conditions, especially eczema and dermatitis.

All age groups can use Dermol 500 Lotion, including babies.

There are two types of the active ingredient in this product:

Benzalkonium chloride and chlorhexidine dihydrochloride are antimicrobials. These help to:

    • combat bacteria present on your skin that can make eczema worse
    • prevent infection caused by scratching itchy skin.

Liquid paraffin and isopropyl myristate are emollients that help to:

    • soften, moisturise and protect your skin by trapping moisture in the skin and restoring the normal protective function of the skin
    • prevent the skin-drying and irritant effects that can be caused by washing and bathing and by the soaps, foaming additives and fragrances used in ordinary skin cleansing products.

This product can be used in addition to any other emollients or treatments your doctor or pharmacist may have given or prescribed for you to treat your dry skin condition.

How to use Dermol 500 Lotion

Use it only on the skin. For maximum benefit, you should use this product on a regular basis and as often as required.

Before using the 500 ml bottle, turn the top of the pump dispenser anti-clockwise to unlock it.

After unlocking, you will need to press down the pump dispenser several times to prime the pump before any product is dispensed.

The same instructions apply for all age groups:

For use as a leave-on application

    • Apply Dermol 500 Lotion to the affected areas.
    • Gently smooth into the skin.
    • If necessary, allow time for any excess to soak in. Do not rub the skin vigorously.
    • Reapply as often as required.
    • If you are applying another treatment to the same areas of skin as Dermol 500 Lotion, try to avoid mixing the two products. This can be achieved by applying the treatments alternately, leaving sufficient time to allow the previous application to soak in.

For use as a soap substitute

    • Use Dermol 500 Lotion to wash with instead of your ordinary soap or shower gel. It will not foam or lather like ordinary cosmetic products.
    • After washing, bathing or showering, pat the skin dry with a soft towel (avoid rubbing as this can make dry skin conditions worse).

What does Dermol 500 Lotion contain?

The active ingredients in this product are benzalkonium chloride (0.1% w/w), chlorhexidine dihydrochloride (0.1% w/w), liquid paraffin (2.5% w/w) and isopropyl myristate (2.5% w/w).

The other ingredients are cetostearyl alcohol, macrogol cetostearyl ether (cetomacrogol 1000), phenoxyethanol and purified water.

    What is Anbesol Liquid?

Anbesol Liquid is used to help relieve pain and discomfort associated with teething, in children from 5 months of age, when other non-medicinal methods such as massaging of the gums or use of teething rings do not provide necessary relief.

The product may also be used by adults, children, and the elderly for the temporary relief of pain caused by recurrent mouth ulcers and denture irritation.

Lidocaine hydrochloride is a local anaesthetic which works by stopping the sensation of pain. Chlorocresol and cetylpyridinium chloride kill bacteria.

    How to use Anbesol Liquid

    Adults and the Elderly:

    • Cover the mouth of the bottle with a clean fingertip, invert once and return the bottle to the upright position.
    • Apply Anbesol Liquid using the fingertip, undiluted, to the affected area
    • Two applications of Anbesol Liquid straight away, will normally be enough to obtain pain relief.
    • If necessary, repeat the application after 3 hours.

    Babies Teething and Children:

    • Cover the mouth of the bottle with a clean fingertip, invert once and return the bottle to the upright position. This equals to a dose of 0.25 ml of Anbesol liquid.
    • Apply Anbesol Liquid using the fingertip, undiluted, to the affected area.
    • If necessary, repeat the application after 3 hours.
    • Do not use more than 6 times in one day (24-hour period).
    • If your child vomits, spits, or swallows the medicine, do not use any more product immediately. Wait 3 hours before using the medicine again.
    • If your child’s symptoms worsen, do not improve after 7 days of treatment or you are concerned that your child is unwell, talk to a health care professional.
    • Do not use for more than 7 days for each teething episode.
    • Stop treatment when your child’s symptoms settle.
    • You should check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

    What does Anbesol Liquid contain?

Anbesol Liquid contains the active ingredients; lidocaine hydrochloride 0.90%w/w, chlorocresol 0.10%w/w and cetylpyridinium chloride 0.02%w/w.

    What is HC45 Hydrocortisone Cream?

HC45 Hydrocortisone Cream is a steroid cream used for inflammations of mild to moderate eczema, dermatitis and reactions to insect bites, nickel and plants. HC45 cream is used to reduce irritation, itching and redness. This cream can only be used for adults and children over the age of 10.

    What is eczema and dermatitis?

Eczema is a dry skin condition which makes skin feel itchy, dry and irritated. Dermatitis is an inflammation triggered when the skin comes into contact with something irritable, like harsh additives and disinfectants.

How does HC45 Cream work to treat skin inflammation and redness?

HC45 cream includes 1% w/w hydrocortisone, which decreases the release of inflammatory substances within the bloodstream, thereby reducing swelling, itching and redness.

    How to use HC45 Cream

Use sparingly on small skin areas, once or twice a day, for a maximum of 7 days.

If the condition does not improve, consult your doctor.

    Important Information about HC45 Cream

HC45 cream contains a steroid cream and should only be used for short-term use (maximum one week). Thin layers of HC45 cream must be applied only to the affected area, as steroids thin the skin. HC45 cream cannot be applied to infected, oozing skin or open wounds. If the condition does not improve or worsens after using HC45 cream, treatment should be discontinued, and you should consult your doctor. HC45 cream must not be applied to the genital or facial regions.

What are A.Vogel Echinaforce Echinacea Tablets

Echinaforce Echinacea tablets are a traditional herbal remedy used for the symptomatic relief of colds, influenza-type infections and similar upper respiratory tract conditions. Always read the leaflet. Echinaforce tablets leaflet.

Echinaforce Echinacea is made from fresh extracts of Echinacea purpurea herb (95%) and root (5%). It is available as drops (tincture in 15ml, 50ml & 100ml bottles) and tablets (42 tablets & 120 tablets).

Echinacea is a plant native to America but is now cultivated extensively in Europe. The plants which go into our product are grown organically in Switzerland at our herb farms.

Up to 10 species of Echinacea have been identified, but only three (E. purpurea, E. angustifolia and E. pallida) are used medicinally. Echinacea purpurea is considered to be the one which has been most widely researched, and this is the species we use.

Our Echinacea is produced using extracts of freshly harvested, organically grown Echinacea purpurea herb and root, picked fresh and used within 24 hours of harvest. The benefit of using freshly harvested herbs has been demonstrated in research - extracts produced from new plants contain almost three times as many active substances as those obtained from equivalent amounts of dried herb.

It is for use in two ways:

What is AproDerm Colloidal Oat Cream

Our AproDerm Colloidal Oat Cream has been specially formulated with active colloidal oatmeal and apricot oils to help soothe, moisturise and protect your dry skin and skin suffering from Eczema or Psoriasis. Suitable for daily use, this paraffin-free cream is the perfect moisturiser and soap substitute to add to your skincare routine if you’re looking for something which will leave your skin looking healthy and hydrated but not greasy before you head out to start your day. SLS, parabens and fragrances can irritate and aggravate sensitive skin, so we’ve made sure to keep them out of all our products meaning they are safe and gentle enough to use on everyone in your family from birth upwards.

How to use AproDerm Colloidal Oat Cream

    • Wash hands before applying.
    • Break the tamper-evident seal on the pump and turn the nozzle clockwise to open.
    • Press the pump ten times on your first use to release cream onto your hand.
    • Apply AproDerm Colloidal Oat Cream regularly, liberally and frequently using gentle strokes and following the direction of hair growth to keep your skin soft and moisturised
    • Do not rub, as this can cause irritation and itching and may block hair follicles, causing inflammation (folliculitis).
    • For maximum effectiveness, leave a thin layer of cream on the skin to soak in.
    • How often you apply, AproDerm Colloidal Oat Cream will depend on how dry your skin is.
    • AproDerm Colloidal Oat Cream can be used instead of soap (soap substitute). Apply to your skin whilst showering to clean and moisturise simultaneously.
    • Re-apply after showering to skin that is almost dry to lock in moisture.
    • If you have eczema or psoriasis, continue using AproDerm Colloidal Oat Cream even after the skin has improved to reduce the risk of flare-ups.
    • Safe to use during pregnancy or breastfeeding as AproDerm Colloidal Oat Cream is unlikely to have any ill effects when used as directed; however, if you are unsure, feel free to talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
    • If you are accidentally swallowed, immediately see a doctor for external use, taking the pack with you.
