What is Care Surgical Spirit

Care Surgical Spirit can be used to reduce and prevent bed sores, and harden the soft skin on the feet. Surgical spirit can also be used to clean and disinfect the skin. This product should not be used on broken skin. 

How do bedsores develop

Pressure ulcers (also known as pressure sores or bedsores) are injuries to the skin and underlying tissue, primarily caused by prolonged pressure on the skin. They can happen to anyone, but usually affect people confined to bed or who sit in a chair or wheelchair for long periods of time.

Warning signs of bedsores or pressure ulcers are:

• Unusual changes in skin color or texture
• Swelling
• Pus-like draining
• An area of skin that feels cooler or warmer to the touch than other areas
• Tender areas

Bedsores fall into one of several stages based on their depth, severity, and other characteristics. The degree of skin and tissue damage ranges from changes in skin color to a deep injury involving muscle and bone.

How to use Care Surgical Spirit

Adults, the elderly and children: Apply to the affected area using cotton wool as required.

Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should only use if advised by a doctor.
