Dermol 200 Shower Emollient - 200ml
Skin CareIn stockMore InformationWhat is Dermol 200 Shower Emollient
- Dermol 200 Shower Emollient is an antimicrobial and emollient (softening and moisturising) treatment for you to apply to your skin as part of your normal showering routine.
- It helps to treat and prevent dry and itchy (pruritic) skin conditions, especially eczema and dermatitis.
- All age groups who normally shower can use Dermol 200 Shower Emollient.
There are two types of the active ingredient in this product:
Benzalkonium chloride and chlorhexidine dihydrochloride are antimicrobials. These help to:
- combat bacteria present on your skin that can make eczema worse
- prevent infection caused by scratching itchy skin.
Liquid paraffin and isopropyl myristate are emollients that help to:
- soften, moisturise and protect your skin by trapping moisture in the skin and restoring the normal protective function of the skin
- prevent the skin-drying and irritant effects that can be caused by washing and bathing and by the soaps, foaming additives and fragrances used in ordinary skin cleansing products.
This product can be used in addition to any other emollients or treatments your doctor or pharmacist may have given or prescribed for you to treat your dry skin condition.
How to use Dermol 200 Shower Emollient
Use it only on the skin. For maximum benefit you should use this product on a regular basis and whenever you shower.
The same instructions apply for all age groups who normally shower:
- To use the product, remove the hooked overcap and attach it to the base of the bottle for hanging in the shower.
- Holding the bottle upside down, gently squeeze the product into the palm of your hand.
For use as a soap substitute
- Use Dermol 200 Shower Emollient to wash with instead of ordinary soap or shower gel. It will not foam or lather like ordinary cosmetic products.
- After washing or showering, pat the skin dry with a soft towel (avoid rubbing as this can make dry skin conditions worse).
For use as a leave-on application (e.g. after showering):
- Apply Dermol 200 Shower Emollient to the affected areas.
- Gently smooth into the skin.
- If necessary, allow time for any excess to soak in. Do not rub the skin vigorously.
- Reapply as often as required.
- If you are applying another treatment to the same areas of skin as Dermol 200 Shower Emollient, try to avoid mixing the two products. This can be achieved by applying the treatments alternately, leaving sufficient time to allow the previous application to soak in.
What does Dermol 200 Shower Emollient contain?
The active ingredients in this product are benzalkonium chloride (0.1% w/w), chlorhexidine dihydrochloride (0.1% w/w), liquid paraffin (2.5% w/w) and isopropyl myristate (2.5% w/w).

Peptac Aniseed Liquid contains 3 active ingredients that work together to relieve the symptoms of gastro-oesophageal reflux. This occurs when stomach acid flows into the food pipe, which can be caused by many different factors and the most common is just after eating. Reflux symptoms can include painful heartburn, indigestion or acid regurgitation.
The active ingredients include sodium alginate, sodium bicarbonate and calcium carbonate and they work together by preventing the acid from flowing back into the food pipe, but they are not absorbed into the bloodstream. Their effects last for about 3-4 hours on top of the stomach contents and are then broken down in the digestive system.
How to take Peptac Antacid
For children aged 6-12, give them one or two 5ml spoonfuls after dinner time, or at bedtime, up to four times every day. For children over 12 and adults, double the dose up to four times every day.

Silicol Gel - 200ml
IBSIn stockMore InformationWhat is Silicol Gel
Silicolgel contains silicic acid, a compound of the mineral substance silicon and oxygen in a colloidal (highly dispersible) and hydrated form. Silicon is the second most abundant element on Earth, after oxygen. It is found in nature as silicon dioxide and in the hydrated or aqueous form as silicic acid.
Gastrointestinal disorders are usually caused by irritants and by harmful and toxic substances and pathogens. When the gastrointestinal tract is disturbed by such toxic substances and pathogens, it cannot function normally, which may lead to physical discomfort.
The advantage of Silicolgel exists in silicic acid's large and highly reactive surface. When taken internally, it forms a protective and soothing coating over the lining of the stomach and intestines.
How to take Silicol Gel
Take Silicolgel at least 1 hour before or after the intake of medicines.
Take one tablespoonful (15 ml) of Silicolgel thrice daily, preferably before meals.
Silicolgel can be taken either undiluted or diluted with water. After acute symptoms ease, treatment with Silicolgel can continue for another few days.
If the symptoms have not reduced after three days, consult a medical doctor.
With diarrhoea, it is necessary to replace lost fluids.
What does Silicol Gel contain
3.5 g Silicon Dioxide in 100 ml Silicic Acid gel.
Preservatives: Sorbic Acid (E 200), Sodium Benzoate (E 211).

This medicine contains the active substance esomeprazole. It belongs to a group of medicines called proton pump inhibitors. They work by reducing the amount of acid that your stomach produces.
This medicine is used in adults for the short-term treatment of reflux symptoms (for example, heartburn and acid regurgitation).
Reflux is the backflow of acid from the stomach into the gullet ("food pipe") which may become inflamed and painful. This may cause symptoms such as a painful sensation in the chest rising up to your throat (heartburn) and a sour taste in the mouth (acid regurgitation).
This medicine is not meant to bring immediate relief. You may need to take the tablets for 2-3 days in a row before you feel better. You must talk to a doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 14 days.
What are the symptoms of heartburn
The normal symptoms of reflux are a painful sensation in the chest rising up to your throat (heartburn) and a sour taste in the mouth (acid regurgitation).
Why do you get these symptoms?
Heartburn can be a result of eating too much, eating high-fat food, eating too quickly and drinking lots of alcohol. You may also notice that when you lie down, your heartburn gets worse. If you are overweight or smoke you increase the probability of suffering from heartburn.
What can I do to help relieve my symptoms
- Eat healthier food and try to avoid spicy and fatty foods and large meals late before bedtime.
- Avoid fizzy drinks, coffee, chocolate and alcohol.
- Eat slowly and eat smaller portions.
- Try to lose weight.
- Stop smoking.

Taking Guardium Tablets
- You can take your tablet at any time of the day either with food or on an empty stomach.
- Swallow your tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not chew or crush the tablet. This is because the tablet contains coated pellets, which stop the medicine from being broken down by the acid in your stomach. It is important not to damage the pellets.
Alternative method of taking Guardium Tablets
- Put the tablet in a glass of still (non-fizzy) water. Do not use any other liquids.
- Stir until the tablet breaks up (the mixture will not be clear) then drink the mixture straight away or within 30 minutes. Always stir the mixture just before drinking it.
- To make sure that you have drunk all of the medicine, rinse the glass very well with half a glass of water and drink it. The solid pieces contain the medicine – do not chew or crush them.
