What is Fluconazole Fungal Infection Capsule?

This medicine contains Fluconazole, which belongs to a group of medicines called antifungals. These act to treat infections caused by fungi.

The medicine can be used to treat thrush (vaginal candidiasis). It may also be used by the woman’s sexual partner to treat associated penile thrush (candidal balanitis).

Thrush is a common infection caused by a yeast (or fungus), which may live harmlessly in the vagina without you even noticing it.

However, in certain circumstances, it may develop into an infection in the vagina and symptoms may spread to the surrounding area. The symptoms may include one or more of the following:

    • Itching of the vagina and surrounding area (the vulva)
    • Redness and swelling of the tissues of the vagina and vulva
    • Soreness of the vagina and vulva
    • White non-smelling discharge from the vagina

Thrush may be aggravated by sexual intercourse, but it is not a sexually transmitted disease. However, sometimes thrush can be passed to your partner through sexual intercourse.

If your partner has penile thrush, he may have one or more of the following symptoms:

    • Soreness and redness of the penis
    • Tightness of the foreskin
    • A white non-smelling penile discharge

What is the recommended dosage for Fluconazole?

    • Check the foil is not broken before use. If it is, do not take the capsule.
    • Adults aged 16 to 60 years: Take one capsule once only.
    • Swallow the capsule whole with water.
    • Do not give to children under 16 years, or take if you are an adult of 61 years or older unless your doctor tells you to.
    • Do not take more than the amount recommended above.
    • If symptoms do not go away within seven days, talk to your doctor.
    • If your symptoms worsen at any time, talk to your doctor.
    • If symptoms clear up but then return after seven days, you can take another capsule, unless you had an allergic reaction the first time.

What is Loperamide Hydrochloride, and when is it used?

Loperamide is a medicine to treat Diarrhoea (runny poo). It can also help with short term diarrhoea or irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

Loperamide is also used for long-lasting Diarrhoea from bowel problems such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis and short bowel syndrome. If you have a colostomy to give you a stoma (an opening in your stomach to collect poo from your body), Loperamide can help to slow down your bowel and make your poo thicker.

    Key facts of Loperamide

    • Diarrhoea which starts suddenly usually gets better on its own within 5 to 7 days. If you need immediate, short term relief, taking Loperamide can cut down the number of times you go to the toilet, and it makes your poo less watery.
    • Adults should take 2 tablets or capsules straight away if they suffer from short term diarrhoea. After this take 1 each time you do a runny poo.
    • Don't exceed the recommended amount. Exceeding the recommended amount can lead to serious heart problems (including a fast or irregular heartbeat).

How will it treat my symptoms?

Loperamide works by slowing down the muscle movements in your gut, so an increased amount of water is absorbed from your stools. This leads to your stools becoming firmer, and they're passed less frequently.

    What causes Diarrhoea?

Diarrhoea is usually caused by a bowel infection known as gastroenteritis. Other known causes are:

    • Alcohol
    • Appendicitis
    • Food allergy

If you are taking any other medicine currently, check the side effects to make sure that they do not cause Diarrhoea. Chronic or long-term Diarrhoea can be a symptom of a more severe condition, such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

Xailin Night Lubricating Eye Ointment provides soothing relief in the symptoms of dry eyes, like soreness, irritation, or even a gritty sensation. • Apply sufficient pressure on the tube to discharge a thin line of ointment roughly half an inch (1 centimetre), or as directed by your doctor, pharmacist, or optician.
    • Blink your eye a couple of times.

    • If you have athlete’s foot, it may help to use an antifungal dusting powder as well. Ask your doctor or pharmacist to recommend one.

The symptoms of skin infection such as itching or soreness should improve within a few days of treatment, although signs such as redness and scaling may take longer to disappear. If symptoms persist, consult your doctor.

What are Benadryl Allergy Relief Capsules

Benadryl Allergy Relief is a medicine that is used to relieve the symptoms of hay fever and other allergic conditions such as pet or dust allergies. The capsules contain acrivastine which is an antihistamine that helps relieve allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose and watery eyes.

It can also be used to treat the symptoms of urticaria, also known as hives, where the skin looks blotchy with white raised wheals (bumps) surrounded by redness. This medicine is for use in adults under 65 years old and children aged 12 years and over.

    Common Allergy Symptoms

Itchy Eyes - Allergy eyes are one of the most uncomfortable symptoms of hay fever. Theyā€™ll often feel irritated, sore or swollen, and can be an annoying distraction throughout the day. Pollen is a fine powder that can easily get into the eyes. Your bodyā€™s natural defence is to create histamine, but although this is meant to help, itā€™s what actually causes that itchy feeling!

Itchy Runny Nose - When you have allergies, your body reacts to things that aren't really harmful, like pollen, dust mites, mould, or pet dander. It releases histamine, a chemical that causes swelling and inflammation. The blood vessels in your eyes swell and your eyes get red, teary, and itchy.

Sneezing - Unlike the type of sneezing associated with a cold, allergy sneezing happens when airborne pollen finds its way into your nasal cavities and your body tries to force it out. Itā€™s one of the most common rhinitis symptoms, so if you know youā€™re prone to it, we recommend always having some tissues handy

    Common Sinus Congestion Symptoms

Sinus Pain - If you have sinus pain, it may feel like thereā€™s pressure against your eyes, cheeks and forehead. This often worsens when you bend over or lie down. It usually goes hand-in-hand with other common sinus congestion symptoms, such as a blocked nose, tiredness, or even an achy feeling in your upper teeth.

Blocked Nose - A blocked nose is one of the most common symptoms of a cold ā€” and also one of the most annoying! Your nose may also be runny, and you might find it hard to talk or breathe normally. Itā€™s often believed a blocked nose is caused by the build-up of mucus, but that blocked feeling is actually down to inflamed blood vessels in the nose cavity.

Headache - If you have a headache and feel generally unwell, chances are you have a head cold. Itā€™s just like a common cold, but the symptoms are mostly felt around your face and sinuses. Remember, there are many other headache causes, so if it persists, you should always go and see a doctor.

How to take Benadryl Allergy Relief Capsules

Adults and Children 12 ā€“ 65 years old: 1 capsule up to 3 times a day

    What are Catacrom Eye Drops

Catacrom Eye Drops are for the relief and treatment of allergic red, watery, itchy and puffy eyes caused by hayfever, house mites, and other causes of allergy such as pet hairs. Eye allergy can happen when sensitive eyes are exposed to these causes of allergy.

Catacrom Eye Drops is a medicine that affects cells called mast cells. It prevents them from releasing chemical substances that cause redness, watering, itching, and puffiness of allergic reactions.

These eye drops can be used by wearers of rigid or gas permeable contact lenses and can be used by people who are sensitive to preservatives in other kinds of eye drops.

How to use Catacrom Eye Drops

Catacrom Eye Drops are for use in the eye only.

    Usual Dose

Catacrom Eye Drops are suitable for use in adults, the elderly and children.

The drops are in single-dose units. Put one or two drops into each eye four times a day, or as directed by your doctor. Avoid touching the eye with the dropper.

Read the instructions on the carton carefully. Wash your hands before and after you use these eye drops.

Steps for Using Catacrom Eye Drops

    • Break off one unit dose container from the strip.
    • Open the unit dose container by bending/twisting the tab (Figure 1).
    • Tilt your head backwards.
    • Gently pull down the lower lid to form a pouch (Figure 2).
    • With the unit dose in the other hand, put one drop inside the pouch by gently squeezing the container. Try not to touch anything with the tip (Figure 3).
    • Close the eye for about 30 seconds and at the same time gently press a finger against the corner of the closed eye, nearest the nose. (Figure 4).
    • Some drops may roll down your face. This is normal. The eye holds less than one drop. Wipe away the excess with a clean tissue. If the drop of medication is not retained for any reason, another drop should be dropped into the eye pouch.
    • If you use more than one type of eye drop, wait five minutes before putting in the next one. This prevents the first drop from being washed away.
    • Repeat instructions 3-8 for the other eye.
